The North Henderson wrestling team has been on a roll to start the season. As of Friday going into the Bobcat Duals, the Knights were 7-1, ranked third in the Western Region of North Carolina in the 3A class, and fourth all together in 3A by Retro Rankings.

The Bobcat Duals featured ten teams in which each team would face every other team over the span of Friday evening through Saturday afternoon and was hosted by Seneca High School.

Friday, North wrestled in 4 matches. They faced off against all South Carolina schools and they took care of business.  Their first match was close, in which they defeated Crescent, 39-30. As the night went on, North got hotter. Next was Mauldin, in which they beat 52-21. To close out the night of impressive wrestling, the Knights added two more wins against Woodmont 61-19, and TL Hanna 69-6. North was the only team from North Carolina to finish 4-0.

Saturday morning, the trend continued. To start the action, the Knights beat Greenwood 57-21 and rattled off three matches in which they posted point totals in the 70’s. They beat Seneca 77-6, Daniel 72-9, Wade Hampton 75-6.

To end the tournament, North faced fellow North Carolina school, Rosman. The Knights handled Rosman with ease, shutting them out by a score of 81-0. North finished the Bobcat Duals as champions, going 9-0 over the two day tournament.

Paul Searcy (152) won the MVP award for the middle weight class at the tournament. The junior is ranked third in the 152 weight class in the 3A classification in North Carolina.
