On Thursday, December 8th North Henderson is holding its annual Empty Bowls Dinner from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. The dinner will be held in the NHHS cafeteria and for the small fee of $10 you will receive a handmade bowl and unlimited soup, bread, and dessert.
This dinner is very important to the school because all of its proceeds goes to North’s Back-Pack Program. North’s Back-Pack Program provides food for students in need over the weekends and breaks throughout the school year, and this dinner helps to fund some of the program.
Senior Billy Thompson created a bowl for the dinner that was purple and gold themed. He believes that the dinner will be a “phenomenal get together” and “likes how we had people come up with the idea to help feed families in need.”
Another bowl creator, sophomore Chloe Poston, decorated her bowl by making impressions of flowers into the clay. She enjoyed “being able to be expressive and have some fun for a great cause.”
Senior Makayla Wesley feels that “the empty bowls dinner is a great way to give back to our community.” She said that her favorite part was being able to design her bowl and be creative.
If you would like to enjoy a homemade meal, receive a handsome bowl, and support North’s Art Department by helping a good cause, then come by North’s cafeteria on December 8th from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
