North Henderson wrestlers had a successful Saturday. North played host to the Knight Invitational, where fourteen teams from three different states came to compete.
After blazing through the first three rounds, the Knights (4-0) had multiple wrestlers advance to championship matches.
North’s Josh Blatt (120), who usually wrestles in the 113 weight class, had a battle on his hands after being down 4-0 going into the second period.
Although, the defending 106 state champion fought back in the two remaining periods to tie things up at 4 going into overtime.
In extra time, Blatt earned two points early to go on to win, 6-4.
Josh Feliz (North) easily beat his opponent in the 126 weight class 5-0 in the first round.
Will Baldwin (145) won his championship match for the second straight week, also.
Paul Searcy (152), who earned his 100th win last week, dominated his opponent throughout three periods to win, 5-1.
Nathan King (170), after being down 2-0 early on, used an early take down seconds into the overtime period to win, 4-2.
Josh Blatt won Most Outstanding Wrestler in the lower weight division, while Searcy won MOW in the upper weight division.
As a team, North placed second with 291 points. The team only fell behind Science Hill, who had 295 points.
North will be back in action on Tuesday at home as they host a tri-match against West Lincoln and Enka.
