Lady Knights earn four all-conference Selections, POTY
The North Henderson Lady Knight Volleyball program is dominant and 2016 added many accomplishments to their history.
Now that the volleyball season has ended, the coaches from the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference have released their all-conference selections. North’s Aly White (Jr.), Anna Baldwin (So.), Caroline Marsh (Sr.), and Teegan Bullock (Sr.) were named to the team.
Bullock said: “It feels good to be part of such a great team that helped me get all-conference. I wouldn’t have been able to do it without them.” She finished the season with 599 assists, 234 digs, and 59 aces.
White added: “It feels great. Being able to play the sport that I love with my team is a blessing”, posting 252 digs, 108 assists, and 47 kills on the year.
Baldwin also added: “It feels really awesome that the work I’ve put in is starting to pay off and I’m excited to see what the future holds in the next two years.” She added 226 digs, 116 kills, and 49 aces in 2016.
Caroline Marsh wasn’t only named all-conference, but was also named the WNCAC Player of the year. She said: “It feels amazing to know that all my hard work has paid off and to know that others have recognized the efforts I’ve put in over the past four years.” Marsh ended the season with 570 kills, 276 digs, and 71 total blocks.
North finished the season 20-3 overall with a 12-2 record in the Western North Carolina Athletic Conference, good for second place. The Lady Knights earned a sixth seed in the NCHSAA 3A Playoffs and fell to North Iredell in the second round. They finished the year ranked 673rd Nationally, 22nd in North Carolina, and 6th in NCHSAA 3A by MaxPreps.
