North Henderson’s DECA Club competed in their first competition of the year on Thursday.
The group traveled to the Asheville Civic Center for the Regional DECA Fall Competition to face-off against high school students from all over the region.
The event allows students to show case their marketing skills in role play and test formats in five categories, which are marketing, appeal and accessories marketing, sports and marketing, retail merchandising, and hotel and lodging marketing.
More than half of North Henderson competitors had proficient scores and earned awards for superior test or role play scores. The team also had finalists in all events and Madison Russell placed first in the sports and entertaining marketing section. Chloe Poston earned a perfect role play score, also.
North placed third overall with a top test score.
