Staff Report

A group of North Henderson and East Henderson student athletes made a difference in their community this past week.

On Friday morning, athletes from the basketball, volleyball, softball, golf, baseball, and track teams from North and East spent their Friday morning reading a variety of different books with young students from Sugarloaf Elementary and greeting them as they exited the buses during the school’s High School Spirit Day.

Each athlete went into a room and read a book of their choice to future Eagles and Knights.

This and a number of other events are examples of how the athletic program reaches out to the community beyond the field and court.
