North Henderson traveled to West on Friday night for a conference match up with a week of rest, but the Falcon’s vibrant offense was too much for North as they lost by a score of 33-14.
Mikey Smithers got things going for North with a 64-yard touchdown that he grabbed from quarterback Kalin Ensley. Ensley then found Darren Lammons for a two-point conversion to give North an early 8-0 lead. Although, West would kick things up a notch by scoring two touchdowns through the first and second quarters that North didn’t have an answer for and put the Knights down 19-8 going into halftime.
After a West touchdown early in the third quarter, Kalin Ensley used his pure speed for a 74-yard touchdown run, but the Knights couldn’t convert on their two-point conversion. Ensley, North’s first year starting quarterback, finished with 110 yards rushing yards and a touchdown and 136 yards passing and a touchdown.
West’s Brandon Whitaker found the end zone for a third time to finish off their scoring night and beat North, 33-14.
North will now travel to East Henderson next Friday.
