The North Henderson volleyball team hosted Brevard on Tuesday night in an important conference match-up and got everything they could handle.

Seniors Caroline Marsh and Teegan Bullock erupted as Marsh dished out 41 kills and Bullock tallied 49 assists to lead North over Brevard in four sets with scores of 25-23, 25-23, 23-25, and 25-22.

The first set tested North’s skills to the fullest. After the Knights got ahead 11-2, the Lady Blue Devils raced back to take the lead, 16-15. From there, it was a teeter-totter match-up until North found themselves behind mid-set and used a few Marsh kills and Bullock assists to get a come-from-behind first set win, 25-23.

The second set wasn’t much different. The Lady Knights got ahead early, lost some ground, but quickly got back to their winning ways and kept cool to edge out their opponent, 25-23.

The third set was a nail-biter, and Brevard got the best of North and took the set by a score of 25-23.

Although, senior leadership from Teegan Bullock, Caroline Marsh and Camryn Nicholson navigated the team through the fourth set. North gained sizable leads at times, but once again the Lady Devils didn’t go down without a fight.

Late in the fourth set, North’s Ashley Patton separated her team from Brevard with a powerful kill. A Caroline Marsh kill ended the close affair and North won the last set, 25-22.

Filling the stat sheet for the Lady Knights was Caroline Marsh (41 kills), Teegan Bullock (49 assists, 9 digs) and Anna Baldwin (9 kills and 7 digs).

The team is back in action on Thursday to face Smoky Mountain at home.
