North Cross Country produces strong showing at Freedom Invitational

The North Henderson Cross Country team traveled to Morganton, North Carolina on Saturday afternoon to participate in a jam-packed event, the Freedom Invitational. The men’s team continued their strong running and finished in second-place out of twenty-two teams in the Boy’s Championship meet.

Leading the way for the men’s team was Dylan Christopher as he placed fourth. Sophomore Hunter White also got a spot in the top-ten with a sixth-place finish. Cole Borlee finished twenty-seventh and Jose Rodriguez placed right behind Borlee with a twenty-eighth place finish.

Also finishing in the top-fifty for the Knights was Andrew Hernasy (47th) and Austin Endey (49th).

For the men’s team, this is their fourth second-place finish in the four races they’ve been in.

The Lady Knights ran in the Open Race. Dakota Smith finished fourteenth, Mackenzie Marrow finished twenty-first and Odyssey Gains finished twenty-second.

The next meet for both the men’s and women’s team is this coming Saturday, September 24th in the White Squirrel Classic at Pisgah Forest.
