It was a busy night for North Henderson athletics and a successful one, too. Check out what happened in brief below:
Volleyball beats Tuscola:
The Lady Knight Volleyball team capped off a undefeated week and got their sixth win of the season as they beat the Tuscola Mountaineers, 3-1 (25-14, 25-10, 21-25, 25-15). They now sit at 6-1, 2-1 in the WNCAC and hold the 19th rank in North Carolina 3A Volleyball rankings.
The Lady Knights host the Panthers of Franklin on Tuesday, September 13th. JV starts at 5:00 PM with Varsity to follow.
Soccer rolls over Madison:
The Knight Men’s Soccer team got back to a winning mentality with a 7-0 route of the Patriots of Madison. North’s defense held strong only allowing 3 shots-on-goal and recording 1 save. Offensively, the Knights had 44 shots-on-goal and with 4 out of their 7 goals coming in the first half. Anselmo Castillo lead the way with 4 goals (19′, 30′ 53′ and 59′) and an assist.
North moves to 3-7 on the season and open up WNCAC play Monday, September 12th at West Henderson. JV starts at 5:00 PM and Varsity at 7:00 PM.
Cross Country finishes strong at Henderson County meet:
The Men’s Cross Country team finished their 4th meet of the year in 2nd place. This is their 3rd meet where they’ve placed 2nd. The Knights next meet is Saturday, September 17th, at the Freedom Invitational. This is held at Freedom High School in Morganton, NC. Start time is 9:00 AM.
JV Football handed 2nd loss:
The Knights JV Football team was handed their 2nd loss on the season at Hendersonville by a score of 46-6. They now sit at 1-2 on the season. North’s next game is Thursday, September 22nd versus West Henderson to open WNCAC play. Game time at 7:00 PM.
