Although the North Henderson Football team won their second game of the season last night, there was a moment in the third quarter that might have topped the win that got everybody a little emotional.
A Swain player was down on the field injured and needed immediate medical attention during a play in the red zone, and as the stadium turned quiet, North Henderson and Swain’s players and cheerleaders put the intense football game aside for a brief five minutes or so and rushed to pray in what was a scary moment for all as you’ll see in this photo above.
The player was fortunately taken off the field and was roaming the sidelines shortly after. The classy act by both teams showed the level of sportsmanship in not only North Henderson and Swain County sports, but also Western North Carolina high school sports.
