The North Henderson Men’s soccer team hosted the Rams of T.C. Roberson on Wednesday night and played a physical game in their 6-0 loss. The Knights knew they had a tough matchup going into the game as T.C. is one of the top teams in the state. “They’re one of the top 4A teams in the state, so we knew coming in we would have our hands full”, North head coach Wayne Nock said.
The game started off as tetter totter matchup as the teams traded possessions and played a rough style of soccer and the Rams were given their first of three yellow cards early, but T.C. found the net for the first time at the 34:38 mark to make it 1-0.
North’s back-to-back saves later in the first half wasn’t enough to get the defense going as T.C. scored two goals in a ten minute span to take a 3-0 lead into halftime.
To start off the second half, North silenced Roberson but they wouldn’t be the case for long as the Rams picked up another goal at the 18:20 mark then another coming at the 7:24 mark.
The Rams then added another goal with under a minute to go in the game to win by a score of 6-0.
With the loss, the Knights took away a couple of positives. “I think we saw some moments where there was some good chemistry and we had some guys step up in positions they don’t normally play”, Nock said.
The team makes a quick turnaround to face A.C. Reynolds Thursday away. Game time set for 7.
